NO.1045

I’ve been trying to take a step back, slow down and work out a new style and use for photography. Trying out different edits and playing with colour. This is a cat I see almost daily, it lives and roams around under a block of HDB flats across the road from my house. It’s pretty friendly but seldom looks into the camera, I think it’s going for a certain pose. I thought adding these floating circles might give the cat some kind of subject to look at. It kind of adds some sort of branding to the overall photo too.

Sugar Cane:

If you’ve read far back enough into my blog, you may know that I’m a big appreciator of many things. Denim/Workwear is one of those things I very much appreciate, something with substantial history and timeless cool factor. Unlike vinyl toys, art or sneakers, a good pair of jeans will only get better the more it’s worn into, when they’re brand new, walking in (raw) denim basically feels like walking in a pair of paper mache or metal pants. With that being said, I feel one shouldn’t own too many pairs as there won’t be enough time to properly season and wear them in, to make them truly yours. Do you know what I mean?

Well, a couple of days ago I was at the Denim Shop looking around when I came across this pair of Sugar Cane’s. Since I was introduced to the label by my old pal Ben a couple of years back, I’ve always felt like I needed to own a pair. A year of so ago, Ben even bought a pack of Sugar Cane denim shampoo for me from Hong Kong as a gift. It still hangs on my wall because the packaging design looks so good.

Needless to say that when I saw these in my size paired with a 30% off discount, I had to get them! It was the last pair so fortunately enough they were in my size. These are my third pair of raws, very pleased. Check out the details!
